“Perfect Place, Perfect Wedding!!!”

When my now husband and I were looking for a place to have our tropical dream wedding, we had Costa Rica in mind. People were talking about how beautiful it was there and we decided to start investigating. When I saw the Red Palm Villas I immediately said “That’s the place”. Being a little wary about not being able to go and see the place myself like you would a local venue, I depended 100% on reviews by past guests. I spent a months reading every single review. Every one was the same “Five stars, paradise, best vacation.”

Let me tell you YES!!! The Red Palm Villas was exactly how the top reviews have described it!!! Every picture you see on their website is EXACTLY how it really looks!! Mike, the owner, and his staff, were unbelievably helpful in communicating with me the entire time. Every question I had was answered by email within a day. The whole planning process from start to finish was with ease. I have to say, the women that work there are the best!!!! RUTH, LU, and SANDRINA were amazing!!! They treated us like family and were so friendly. They greeted us with hugs and smiles upon arrival and throughout the entire stay. Even on my wedding day they stopped by with hugs and congrats!! They make you feel comfortable and they are so thoughtful. We arrived on my mother’s birthday and they had decorated her villa and had a card and a cake waiting for her. She was so happy!!! Also,The lovely housekeepers kept our villas beautiful and full of fresh tropical flowers!! What a treat to have someone else make the beds for you. Miss them!!
If you’re like me and reading the reviews, I’m sure you read all about the two dogs that are part of the Red Palms. They are the best dogs I have ever met!! The greeted you and guarded you the entire stay. They would sleep outside of each of our villas at night, guarding the doors, and in the morning greeted us on the beach. They are like your own personal security guards!! They are extremely well behaved and know they stay outside. We never had an issue with them coming inside the villa or bothering us while we eat. They know their place and were an absolute positive part of our stay! The Red Palm Villas also have their own security that patrols the grounds at night, which is great because the villas are accessible from the beach.
We stayed in the Honeymoon Villa and the family stayed in the Hummingbird Villa. They are the two larger villas that ,YES, are on the beach. They were amazing!!! We have never stayed in such a beautiful place!! The way they are designed and decorated were fabulous. We spent a couple of hours just looking around and saying “WOW”. The AC bedrooms, which each villa has, was great. It was warm at night so to have that option really helped. I loved the upstairs open air bedroom where I listened to the waves crashing and the birds and monkey in the morning!! The beds are super comfy! We had some great sleep.
The best way to get around is definitely by an ATV. Renting one was so easy. They literally deliver it to your villa!!! You stop by the office, they make the call and the ATVs were there in an hour sometimes minutes!!! The restaurants were amazing as well. There are lots of choices and all different cuisines to chose from. Habaneros was one of our favorites!!! A perfect beach atmosphere and fantastic food and margaritas!! CHEF GARY came out to meet us and brought over the fresh fish of the night right to our table and described how it was prepared and fixed us a great dessert as well. He is very passionate about what he does and he does it great!!!! When staying at the Red Palms breakfast is included every morning next door at Milrepa. What a fantastic spot!!! The breakfast was amazing..the fruit was as sweet as candy. There is a wonderful woman who works there. Her name is BIANCA!! We looked forward to seeing her every morning. My daughter was crazy over her frozen lemonade she would make us!!!
Another must is the private jungle tour with EDWIN! AMAZING!! He picks you up in the morning and he is your personal tour guide for the day. He takes you on a tour of the jungle and at the end we cracked coconuts and fresh pineapple and made a delicious cocktails!! Then he took us to Montezuma and we walked around the town, had lunch and some of us went zip lining. SO glad I decided to do it!! Edwin was so friendly and informative. We could take out time and do what we wanted and never felt rushed! He even sat and had breakfast and lunch with us. We learned so much about the area and culture from him. Definitely a must again next year! Also, I recommend the Horseback Riding Tour. The horses come right to the villas and you head out along the beach for two hours. We did ours around sunset. It was fabulous and my mother and daughters loved it!!!!
I could keep writing all day about this perfect place! It was the best vacation EVER. My sunset wedding was everything I wanted!!! It was beautiful. It was better than I ever dreamed it would be!! We hated leaving but we already have plans to return next year!!! This may become a tradition of ours. Love and miss all of the Red Palm Villa Staff. See you next year!

“A Dream Come True Wedding and Honeymoon”5 of 5 stars

We searched for weeks in hopes to find the perfect place to have our wedding and honeymoon and we were so beyond happy with our choice. Red Palm Villas is hands down the BEST place to stay in Santa Teresa regardless whether you are there to surf or need a family getaway or having a wedding / honeymoon. They exceeded ALL of our expectations and everything could not have been more perfect. When planning a wedding, things could get a little stress full especially when you are having your wedding in another country, but everything was smooth sailing from the very beginning. They take customer service to a whole nother lever. They took care of everything from setting up our beautiful ceremony on the beach to our private dinner on the sand to all of our excursions and arranging all of our dinners. Every single suggestion they had was amazing, from the places to go site see, to activities to their lunch and dinner suggestions. I honestly cannot say enough about this place. We felt like we were staying with family, everyone at Red Palm Villas was very sweet and sooo accommodating. The beach is absolutely breath taking, and the food in Santa Teresa is amazing… I had some of the best dishes of my life. Not only did we fall in love with Santa Teresa we fell in love with Red Palm Villas and we are certain we will be visiting them again soon. If you are looking for a place to stay, there is nowhere like Red Palm Villas… you will not be disappointed.

“The Nicest Place to Stay in Santa Teresa”

I did an exhaustive amount of working trying to find the ideal place to stay in Santa Teresa and after staying at Red Palm (Honeymoon Suite) and being in town I can say this is the best place to stay in Santa Teresa. My wife and I and two children (6 and 9) were in town for a wedding and had a blast. The people working at Red Palm were very nice and accommodating. The package included surf lessons and a guided nature walk (the guys at Olingo were great). The beach is beautiful and what blew us away was how great the cuisine was in Santa Teresa. They keep things quite simple and fruits and fish were extraordinary. Breakfast next door (included) at Milerepa was very good (although a little slow but no worries). Red Palm is on the north (quiet) side of town.. near Florblanca and some others. Seems like this is where all the higher end places to stay. You definitely need an ATV or car to get around. we had two ATV’s and the kids had an absolute blast riding with us. The only issue to be aware of is that it is VERY dusty on the roads.. they water some of them down but it was dry season and the roads are not paved. There are a number of markets any many good restaurants. Our favorite was Brisas Del Mar and I would recommend also going to a local Costa Rican “soda” to try traditional Costa Rican cuisine which is quite good. Santa Teresa has more of a American/European vibe than traditional costa rican town as they are drawn to the fantastic surfing and beaches. I recommend you DO NOT drive to the Nicoya pensinsula as the roads are super sketchy. Best was to go is fly Sansa (which owned by a big airline) to Tambor and get a taxi (or have someone pick you up) and drive you to Santa Teresa

Back to the honeymoon suite it was well appointed especially when you think you literally are so far away from a major city, they had a huge quasi outdoor shower, the main bedroom is air conditioned and quiet. If you sleep upstairs it is much louder (jungle noises birds etc) but the ocean waves drowns some of that sound away. Interestingly, we were adopted by the two red palms dogs (Cisco and ?) and they would follow us around to lunch and breakfast and they were very sweet with my children (and even better they barked at anyone they strayed into red palms. On that note we felt very safe there I think the main thing to worry about is petty theft of small items when you are out on the beach but again we felt very safe and secure at Red Palm (which frankly was a concern for me before arriving).

I also recommend heading up to Playa Hermosa (about a 5-10 minute drive).. beautiful huge beach with generally mellower waves. The surf lessons and nature tour were great, Red Palm was great, and Costa Rica in general blew us and our kids away with all the potential activities, great food or just an opportunity to chillax on the beach! Highly recommended!

“Treated Like Royalty”

If you are like me you have become a little skeptical of hotels and resorts whose reviews just seem too good! So it was with some apprehension that we arrived at The Red Palm Villas. The good news is that it is all that that the reviewers say it is. Set in tranquil and beautiful gardens surrounded by nature, flowers, wildlife, and on maybe one of the best beaches left in the world today
The villa’s, and the staff make the Red Palms a special place. My wife and I were there celebrating my 60th birthday, everything was done to make it a truly memorable occasion. The dinner prepared by Chef Torsten, the birthday decorations prepared by staff were just fantastic. The discreet but detailed service was all that you could want with a sense of fun thrown in at no charge. The Red Palm Villas allows you to feel the Costa Rica culture while supported by all the comforts that we deem necessary. A truly special place and well worth it.
In one sentence, I must say the experience is beyond outstanding. It definitely competes at the level of any outstanding resort, but at a price point that is much lower. Lewcreshia, Sandra and Josefina. were courteous and always thought ahead anticipating our every need. They arranged for private drivers and private tours that were all excellent. They were always there to meet us immediately upon our return to the resort. I just can’t say enough about their thoroughness and professionalism and thoughtfulness. The breakfast next door and the pool was perfect for us, lots of authentic touches and all of the luxury conveniences you would ever want. As for the grounds, they are stunning and extremely well maintained. I couldn’t believe how all the staff knew your name and greeted you wherever they saw you. It is all of the small things that make you really feel that this place is special. From the private dinner on our open patio facing the beach to the Villa, everything beat our expectations. We went to all 4 restaurants next to the hotel, they were all great in their own rights, not one bad meal the entire time we were there. This place has only 3 villas and a few nice apartments or suites, it’s very exclusive and private so it never seems busy and you rarely see people other than occasionally at the beach or the reception. We without a thought or hesitation recommend this resort to families or honeymooners, it’s a perfect place to go, relax, have a great experience on maybe the best beach in the world, one word GO!
Our compliments to a brilliantly designed and authentic property. We’ll be back for sure!

“More Then We Expected – What More Could There Be!”

Adventure, beauty, romance, and did I say adventure? We saw the pictures online… they don’t give credit where credit is due! This resort is BEAUTIFUL!!! The service was AMAZING!!! The gardens are lush. The wildlife is abundant. Our villa on the beach… SPECTACULAR!!! The staff is very friendly and helpful and Lucrecia and Josefina are very good at what they do, customer service. It was a huge convenience having someone always available and close-by who could provide excursions and rentals. We are a family of 5 (3 kids under 12) and somehow still found time for one night a romantic dinner just the two of us and a walk back home down a star lit beach. There was more than enough here to entertain everyone. We were very close to all the other beaches and multiple shopping areas. We would stay here again! Santa Teresa is a secluded, very natural and beautiful beach, all of which made our stay even better. Our kids want to go right back, we’re planning August, thanks everyone at Red Palm Villas – Pura Vida!!!

“#1 Family Vacation of our Life!”

Everything you read amazing about this place is TRUE! We brought our family of 7 and stayed in two of the beach front villas. It was wonderful for everyone from great grandma who loved sitting on the patio and watching the whales spout, to our 3 year old grandson who played for hours in the pool next door and tide pools out front. Everyone enjoyed the luxury accommodations, the tours, restaurants and the perfect beach we were on.
We saved a ton by cooking a lot of our own food in the kitchens provided. The breakfast offered was fantastic and very good, not anything you would ever expect, it really is gourmet like everyone says.
It was a 5-minute walk to several great restaurants all on the beach. We cooked mahi mahi, tuna, steaks, and chicken on the Weber grill provided.

It is the best value for families looking for deluxe accommodations at prices similar to hotel rooms with the added convenience of full kitchens and affordable and prompt laundry service. I think it is Santa Teresa’s best kept secret!
